Superpowers

Latterly I have had a problem with my hearing, which eventually resulted in a minor operation. 24 hours after the operation I awoke with my hearing back to a level that I hadn't experienced for 18 months or more. The change was dramatic in the extreme. I was able to turn the TV volume, which had been recently turned up to 45, down to 25. I was noticing things that I had ceased to notice ages ago.

Training Doesn't Work

It seems almost blasphemous to write the words “Training doesn't work”, particularly when I am so deeply involved in the development field, and so often, at the level I work at training can be seen as the universal panacea for all problems, but it is true that training doesn't work. Three Reasons Why Conflict Is Good

Most of us prefer an easy life, a life that is free from argument anger and conflict. Most of us would prefer to inhabit a place where we keep conflict at bay, preferring a quiet and respectful calm to an upsetting and unsettling turmoil. So it follows then that in creating our ideal place of work and in framing the ideal team we choose to work with we might feel the need to seek an absence of conflict. Indeed we may even have an absence of conflict as one of the markers of a great team.
