If I don’t, then the client must sack me, the coach. If the client is not putting the effort in to achieve measurable results then I will sack the client. My reputation depends upon the results my clients get. Coaching is self financing when it is done correctly.

For as long as it is working. Sometimes the engagement is for a fixed term but usually it lasts for as long as it is working. It is an investment and as long as you are getting back more than you are paying out, why would you even think of stopping? And remember coaching is about helping the coachee to perform at a higher level. It is not about creating a dependency. A key coaching question is “when will you be ready to operate without your coach?”
